SOFTBALL

North Greene 7, Sullivan East 5

The North Greene softball team got the Tiny Day/ Red Edmonds Memorial Tournament  started with a 7-5 win over Sullivan East on Thursday.

The Lady Huskies scored their seven runs on five hits. Eva Leonard led the way by going 2-for-2 with four RBIs. Kinlea Eastep had a hit and scored three runs. Addi Dean and Tralyn Southerland each had a single.

Matti Phillips earned the win in the circle. In 4.2 innings she had two strikeouts, three walks and allowed nine hits.

North Greene 2, Daniel Boone 2

In its second game at the Tiny Day Tournament the North Greene softball settled for a 2-2 tie with Daniel Boone.

The Lady Huskies earned four hits. Kinlea Eastep was 2-for-4 from the leadoff spot with two steals. Hannah Brooks had a double and Josie Graham had a single. Matti Phillips and Charlie Turnmire each had an RBI.

In the circle Brooks threw eight innings with nine strikeouts, two walks and six hits allowed.

Greeneville 6, Chuckey-Doak 0

In its first game at the Tiny Day/ Red Edmonds Memorial Tournament the Greeneville softball team beat Chuckey-Doak 6-0 on Thursday.

At the plate Greeneville’s Brylee Tullock was 2-for-3 with a triple and a double. Brynlee Jones went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Baylee Ramsey had a double and two RBIs.

In the circle Jamie Jackson was in full control with six strikeouts, one walk and two hits allowed in five innings.

Elizabeth Manuel took the loss for Chuckey-Doak. In four innings she struck out two, walked two and allowed nine hits.

Manuel and Paylin Shelton each had a hit for the Lady Black Knights.

West Ridge 12, Chuckey-Doak 0

Chuckey-Doak softball fell to West Ridge 12-0 on Thursday in the Tiny Day Tournament.

The Lady Black Knights struggled against West Ridge starter Miranda Henley who tossed a nearly perfect three innings with eight strikeouts against 10 batters faced.

Madisyn Miller and Paylin Shelton each collected a hit on Thursday against relief pitcher Zoey Blair.

Jayden Myers took the loss in four innings she struck out two walked six and allowed 10 hits.

Cloudland 7, South Greene 6

The South Greene softball team fell to Cloudland 7-6 on Thursday evening.

At the plate Paisley Brobeck was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Lady Rebels. Hailey Williamson went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.  Whitney Reaves was 1-for-3 and scored two runs.

In the circle Kortnei Bailey threw 4.2 innings with seven strikeouts, one walk and six hits allowed.

BASEBALL

Chuckey-Doak 17, North Greene 3

The Chuckey-Doak baseball team beat North Greene 17-3 on Thursday.

Cooper Seay had a big day at the plate for the Black Knights going 4-for-4 with a home run, double and five RBIs. Kiptyn Ball was 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs. Randall Sauceman was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Benjamin Palazzo was 3-for-4  with and RBI. Gavin Crum went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Dom Atchison was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. All nine Chuckey-Doak batter earned at least one hit.

Crum got the win in four innings of work. He struck out one, walked three and allowed two hits.

Isaac Gaby had a home run and two RBIs for North Greene. Christian Cogdill had the Huskies other hit.

Cogdill took the loss. In 1.1 innings he struck out two, walked three and allowed nine hits.

Oak Ridge 8, Greeneville 4

In a battle of two of the top teams in the state Greeneville, the No.1 team in Class 3A, fell to Oak Ridge, the No.2 team in Class 4A, 8-4.

The Greene Devils produced 10 hits on Thursday but only managed four runs off of them. Will Harmon had a three-run home run. Maddox Bishop and Tegan Begley each had a double. Grayson Crosby and Sam Thompson both had two hits.

On the mound Harmon took the loss. In 4.2 innings he struck out seven, walked one and allowed six hits with five runs.

South Greene 17, West Washington, Indiana 6

The South Greene baseball team got back in the win column on Thursday with a 17-6 win over West Washington, Indiana in the Buddy Hawk Classic.

The Rebels produced 13 hits in the win. Maddux Brown was 2-for-2 with five RBIs. Cloten Fillers went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Cameron Kinser was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Dawson Ripley was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Eli Fillers went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. T Ricker had two RBIs as well.

On the mound Colten Fillers went five innings with two strikeouts, three walks and seven hits allowed.

SOCCER

Chuckey-Doak 8, Cumberland Gap 2

The Chuckey-Doak soccer team took down Cumberland Gap 8-2 on Thursday night in District 1-1A action.

Eduard Cedillio put the Black Knights in front quickly with a goal in the fifth minute.

Dominc Hahnlen the scored three of his four goals in the first half for a 4-0 halftime advantage.

In the second half Jesus Rojas scored two goals for Chuckey-Doak, while Kaleo Tuscano-Delanto and Hahnlen each had one.

Will Compton scored both of Cumberland Gap’s goals.
