BASEBALL

West Greene 5, Cumberland Gap 4

The West Greene baseball team wrapped up the regular season on Monday with a 5-4 win over Cumberland Gap.

The Buffaloes now move on to the District 1-2A Tournament and will host South Greene on Tuesday in the opening round of postseason play.

Jhonen Bath earned the win in relief. In three innings he struck out three, walked four and gave up no hits. Jayden Cox earned the save by striking out two, walking one and allowing no hits in 1.1 innings on the mound.

West Greene earned just three hits in the win. Carter Stills, Brandon Hunter, and Bronson Brown all had one hit.

Northview Academy 14, North Greene 7

The North Greene baseball fell to Northview Academy on Monday night in the final game of the regular season.

The Huskies earned 11 hits on Monday, but were doomed by seven errors. Christian Cogdill went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Jaiden Bailey and Wyatt Burns each had two hits. Isaac Gaby and Isaac Halley each had a double. Owen Pierce had two RBIs.

Aidan Halley started the game on the mound for North Greene. In three innings he struck out four, walked one and allowed three hits.

Tyler Britton took the loss. In 1.1 innings he walked three and allowed four hits.

Gatlinburg-Pittman 5, Chuckey-Doak 4

The Chuckey-Doak baseball team concluded the regular season on Monday with a 5-4 loss to Gatlinburg-Pittman.

The Black Knights were held to three hits in the loss. Braxton Lowe was 2-for-3 with a double, and Dom Atchison had a double.

On the mound Chuckey-Doak used five pitchers. Lynkin Cutshaw started the game and went two innings with two strikeouts, two walks, and two hits allowed. Gavin Murray tossed two innings with four strikeouts, one walk and no hits allowed.

Mason Henderson took the loss. He walked three and allowed three runs without recording an out.

SOFTBALL

West Greene 6, Happy Valley 5

The West Greene softball team picked up a 6-5 win over Happy Valley on Monday night.

The game was tied at 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth when Victoria Ramsey singled through the right side to score Miranda Hunter from third for the walk-off win.

The Lady Buffaloes earned 11 hits on Monday. Autumn Carter, Abby Cluesman and Ramsey all went 2-for-4. Hunter and Kaylee Willett both had a double.

In the circle Cluesman threw all eight innings to earn the win. She struck out nine, walked seven and allowed five hits.

University High 20, Chuckey-Doak 7

The Chuckey-Doak softball team fell to University High 20-7 on Monday night.

The Lady Black Knights earned 10 hits. Elizabeth Manuel went 3-for-4. Jessie Dayton went 2-for-3. Hayleigh Seidl had three RBIs and Elizabethton Shelton had two RBIs.

Manuel took the loss in the circle. In five innings she struck out eight, walked three and allowed 12 hits.

Cloudland 18, North Greene 7

The North Greene softball team fell to Cloudland 18-7 on Monday night.

The Lady Huskies were held to four hits. Tralyn Southerland had a triple and Eva Leonard had a double. Kinlea Eastep and Charlie Turnmire each had a single. Chloe Keys had two RBIs.

Matti Phillips took the loss. In four innings she struck out four, walked four and allowed eight hits.

Daniel Boone 6, Greeneville 2

The Greeneville softball team fell to Daniel Boone 6-2 on Monday.

The Lady Devils were held to three hits on Monday. Brylee Tullock, Kaley Garland and Katie Johnson each had a single.

Jamie Jackson took the loss. In six innings she struck out two, walked seven and allowed 11 hits.
