South Greene Wins Cross County Match
The South Greene boys golf team won a four-way match at Graysburg Hills on Tuesday afternoon between the four county schools.
Brennan Gregg earned medalist honors by shooting a 37 for the Rebels. Kennan Hankins had a 39, Cameron Kinser 43, and Trapper Brown a 45 for South Greene’s team score of 164.
West Greene shot a 198 as a team. Thomas Cogsdell led the way with a 43, Xander Crisp shot a 46, Josiah Dawson had a 54 and Noah Maxwell 55.
Chuckey-Doak shot a 205 team score. Ty Shelton led the Black Knights with a 44. Harrison Ayers had a 49, Knox McAmis 54 and Denver Huff 58.
North Greene’s Nick Norton shot a 60.
In the girls match Chuckey-Doak’s Harley Thompson claimed medalist honors with a 47. Alexis Deming had a 49 and Addilyn Boesch a 56 for the Lady Black Knights.
South Greene’s Khloe Laws shot a 49, North Greene’s Kylie Listek shot a 53, and West Greene’s Katie Beth Hollingsworth shot a 63.
Greeneville Girls Win In Morristown
The Greeneville girls golf team earned a victory on Tuesday in a three-way match with Morristown East and Morristown West.
As a team the Lady Greene Devils shot a 74. Brylee Catron led the way with a 36, Kamryn Renner had a 38 and Kylee Renner had a 38.
Morristown West shot an 89, and Morristown East shot an 89.
In the boys match Morristown West shot a 153, Greeneville 163 and Morristown West 179.
Maps Gray led Greeneville with a 37, Bryson Ricker had a 41, Carson Waters 42 and Nathan Howlett 43.

Greeneville 4, Volunteer 0
The Greeneville soccer team kicked off its season on Tuesday night with a 4-0 win over District 2-AA foe Volunteer.
The scoring started in the sixth minute when Kinsley Spradlen finished a cross from Peyton Vaught.
In the 17th minute Vaught made it 2-0 by curling in a long shot from wide of the box on the left side.
Vivian Kammerdiener pushed the advantage to 3-0 by driving through traffic in the 26th minute.
Spradlen scored again in the 68th minute with a long shot from beyond 20 yards.
Greeneville’s defense pitched a shutout while allowing just two shots on frame the whole night.
VOLLEYBALL
South Greene 3, Greeneville 1
The South Greene volleyball team opened up the season on Tuesday with a 3-1 with over Greeneville, 25-17, 26-24, 23-25, 25-18.
Emma Padgett led South Greene with 21 kills while Kinsley McCaslin had 13 kills.
For Greeneville Katie Johnson had 10 kills and three aces, and Natalie Knight had 10 kills.
North Greene 3, Volunteer 2
The North Greene volleyball team got its season started by going to Volunteer on Tuesday and picking up a thrilling 3-2 win, 11-25, 22-25, 25-11, 30-28, 15-9.
