Greeneville 40, Robinson 0
After suffering through a pair of cancellations to start the 2026 campaign, the Greeneville Middle School football team finally took the field and came through with a convincing 40-0 win over Robinson Middle School.
The Greene Devils scored 5 touchdowns and racked up 368 yards of total offense. Quarterback Easton Ricker completed 8-of-10 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown without throwing an interception in his first career start. Jett Williams led the receiving corps with 87 yards on 3 catches for a touchdown.
Alijah Goode picked up 63 yards on 3 carries, while Dreke Richards tallied 50 yards on 3 carries, and Ricker 45 yards on 4 carries. Goode, Ricker, Kielor Roark, and Zavi Dickson each found the endzone on the ground in the winning effort.
The Devils start the season 1-0 with the win. Greeneville will host Boone on Monday night at Greeneville Middle School before travelling to Johnson City on Thursday to face off with Liberty Bell.
South Greene 33, Bulls Gap 0
South Greene traveled to Bulls Gap for an important conference game and returned home with a shutout win.
The Rebels defense seems to get better week by week. Bulls Gap was held to -3 yards of total offense. South Greene has outscored opponents 91-8 in three games so far. The defense forced five turnovers. Cameron Haire had the big play on defense with a 48-yard pick six. Avan Park, Lacy Dean, Kaden Reaves, and Brayson Hope all combined for three tackles each. Summitt Beach collected all kinds of stats with 2 tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
South Greene totaled 221 yards on offense (203 rushing and 18 passing). Braevyn Myers led the way with 11 carries, 86 yards, and a touchdown. Brayson Hope had 7 carries for 42 yards and a touchdown. Jamie Devera had 7 carries for 31 yards. Kaden Reaves hauled in the only reception of the night for an 18-yard touchdown. Keaton Dyer was 1-for-2 for 18 yards and a touchdown. Jace Taylor also added a touchdown with a 3-yard rushing score.
The Rebels continued their winning ways and improved to 3-0. South Greene travels to Cocke County next Thursday.
North Greene 0, Northview 22
North Greene suffered a 22-0 shutout defeat to Northview on Thursday afternoon.
The Huskies offense couldn’t get past a stifling Cougars defense and struggled to move the ball. North Greene held Northview in check for one quarter before the Cougars started delivering explosive play after explosive play on offense and pulled away with the win.
North Greene drops to an even 1-1 record with the loss. The Huskies host Parrottsville next Thursday at home on The Tundra.
Chuckey-Doak 6, Cocke County 36
Chuckey-Doak battled with Cocke County in their home opener in Lower Afton on Thursday, but were met with a 36-6 loss.
The Black Knights drop to 0-2 and march into Johnson City next week to play Boone at Ridgeview Elementary School.
West Greene 12, Rogersville 50
West Greene traveled to Rogersville Middle School and returned back to Mosheim with a 50-12 loss.
Cooper Jones had a day on offense with 10 receptions for 170 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ian McCamey passed for 232 yards and 2 touchdowns while rushing for 40 yards. Caleb Barrington, Lex Mason, and John Solomon all shared carries in the backfield. Garrett Goodrich had a singular catch for 12 yards.
The Buffs fall to 0-2 and host Bulls Gap in their first home game next Thursday.
