Week two of the high school sports season brought us plenty of notable performances, but Greeneville’s Taren Claridy made the biggest plays against the toughest opponent and for that he has been named Greene Sports Zone’s Texas Roadhouse Player of the Week.
Greeneville traveled to the mid state to take on No.5 ranked Upperman and Claridy made it clear early that he was the best player on the field. He opened the game with an 84-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Then on the Greene Devils second offensive snap he pulled in a 76 touchdown reception. Claridy finished Friday with five catches for 156 yards. On defensive he was involved in three tackles and forced a fumble.
