Points were plentiful in the first week of September, but nobody crossed the goal line more than South Greene’s Tripp Neas. For that he has been named Greene Sports Zone’s Texas Roadhouse Player of the Week.
The South Greene football team went into last week’s contest with Johnson County longing for a victory, and Neas made sure it happened. The senior running back carried the ball 21 times for 229 yards and scored an astounding six touchdowns as he led the Rebels to a 48-6 victory. But Neas’ best play of the night came on defense when he raced 75 yards to lasso a Longhorn runner from behind, saving a touchdown.
