Lightning throughout Northeast Tennessee on Friday delayed several high school football contests, and for North Greene and West Greene their games never got underway.
North Greene traveled to Cosby and then came back to Baileyton without taking a snap. Fortunately the two teams share a bye week and chose to reschedule their Region 1-1A competition for October 9, still at Cosby.
West Greene was supposed to play Eagleton on Friday in a homecoming contest, but Mother Nature had other plans. The game will go down as a no contest. That means the Buffaloes could schedule another opponent before the regular season ends on October 30, or they could play a nine-game regular season.
