ANDERSON, S.C. — Juan Pablo Lepervanche scored twice in a span of three minutes early in the second half to power ninth-ranked Anderson University to a 2-0 win over Tusculum University in South Atlantic Conference men’s soccer Saturday night at Spero Financial Field.
Lepervanche scored in the 52nd and 55th minutes for the Trojans (7-0-3, 3-0-2 SAC) while Asher Risell made all three of his saves in the second half to earn the shutout.
Scoreless through 45 minutes, the Trojans broke through at 51:21 when Lepervanche collected a loose ball at the top of the box and fired a shot past Pioneer keeper Gavin Roux. Just under three minutes later, Lepervanche struck again at 54:15, finishing a chance set up by Luis Munoz.
All three of Tusculum’s shots on goal came midway through the second half, with Risell making a lunging stop on a free kick from George Kirby and denying Patrick Enchill on a break down the left side. Enchill led the Pioneers (1-6-1, 0-3-1 SAC) with five shot attempts in the match.
Anderson held the edge in overall chances, outshooting Tusculum 14–10. Both Roux and Risell had three saves in goal for their respective teams.
