Greeneville, TN – Tuesday afternoon in front of family, friends, and teammates, Greeneville’s Madison Carpenter and Lauren Million put pen to paper and will continue their softball careers as they pursue their college degree.
Both players played an integral role in the Lady Devils’ success starting in 155 games over their career, which is a school record. Both were named first team All-Conference in 2023 and 2024.
Carpenter, who caught for the Lady Devils and was named to the 2024 class 3A All-State team by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association, will be playing at Bryan College. She finishes her career with a 0.359 batting average and a 0.416 on base percentage with 149 hits, 21 doubles, and 94 runs batted in. She was on the District All-Tournament team in 2022 and 2023, and was the offensive Player of the Year in 2024.
Million, who saw action at first base, will be playing at Milligan University. She had a career batting average of 0.366 and on base percentage of 0.406. She drove in 101 runs with 169 hits, 40 doubles, and 7 homers. She too was on the District All-Tournament team in 2022 and 2023 and was named District Tournament Most Valuable Payer in 2024.
