Cloudland Crushed West Greene
For the first two weeks of the season, the West Greene Buffaloes have gotten off to slow starts in each of their games. Last week they spotted North Greene a 16-point lead before recovering to take the victory. This week, they spotted Cloudland a 22-point lead but could never overcome their own penalties and turnovers before falling 30-0.
The Highlanders took the opening kickoff and began driving, only to turn the ball over on downs. The Buffs, however, would hand the ball back over via a fumble and from there, the Highlanders would ride Grayson Cole to the endzone. Following the two-point conversion, the Highlanders led 8-0. That score held up the rest of the way through the first quarter.
In the second, the Highlanders continued to ride Owens for all it was worth. He carried the load, scoring two more times, sending the visitors to the locker room up 22-0. Coming out of the locker room, the Buffaloes looked to chip away at the deficit, but an interception stalled their drive, which allowed the Highlanders to go the other way for the 30-0 lead, that would send the game to a running-clock. Owens finished the night carrying the ball 31 times for 237 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Time of possession for the game was well balanced throughout the game, however, the Buffaloes committed seven penalties for 92 yards and committed 5-turnovers (1 fumble and 4 interceptions). Skyler Shelton led the Buffaloe offensive attack carrying the ball 8 times for 27 yards, while Dillion teston finished with 5 carries and 13 yards.
