Baseball:
Hampton 8 – South Greene 6
South Greene outhit Hampton 10-7 and outscored them 4-0 over the final three innings, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a big third inning by the Bulldogs. Hampton broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the third with a six-run outburst and held on for an 8-6 conference win.
Charlie Lane, Seth Franklin, and Zachary Mason led the Rebels’ offense with multiple hits each. Lane drove in two runs with a pair of singles, while Franklin added an RBI with a solo home run and a single.
Colby Brooks took the hard-luck loss on the mound despite a complete game effort. He allowed eight runs—only two of them earned—on seven hits, striking out eight and walking six.
South Greene is scheduled to travel to Hampton on Tuesday for the back end of this conference matchup.
