The Greeneville Girls Soccer team welcomed Bearden to Burley Stadium for a scrimmage on Tuesday night that resulted in the Bulldogs leaving with a 7-0 triumph.
“We’d liked to have been on the other side of the scoring line, but you’re playing against a team with the quality of Bearden. We play these teams early so we can figure things out about ourselves so we can hopefully win some of the games later on at the end of the year,” Lady Devils Head Coach Jerry Graham said.
Even in a lopsided loss this early, Coach Graham was pleased with the effort that was shown. “I was really proud of our girls effort. We’re a young team and we’re a small team,” he mentioned.
Jayla Blue scored three goals while Ella Fraley, Claire Jenkinson, and Tyler Roth added one each. The seventh and final goal was the result of an own goal.
The Lady Devils next scrimmage is at Daniel Boone on Thursday. They officially open up the regular season on Monday at home versus Sullivan East.
