The Greeneville boys cross country team ran hard on Saturday and picked up a second-place finish at the Iron Mountains Invitational at Winged Deer Park in Johnson City.
Trey Bailey led the Greene Devils and finished first overall in a time 16:06.42. Isaac Gibson was ninth in 17:34.02, Jules Richard was 17th, Cole Englehardt 34th and Riley Disalvo 47th.
Greeneville earned 108 team points to finish in second place out of 14 teams. Dobyns-Bennett was first with 33 points, and Jefferson County was third with 115 points.
The Chuckey-Doak boys finished in 11th place. Benjamin Merrill was 26th in 19:06.99, Logan Malone was 44th, Blake Lippard 49th, Collin Lovins 57th and Landon Brown 67th.
For the Greeneville girls Ashlynn Ranly was 24th in 23:54.92, Susan Mullhollen was 49th, Aley White 51st and Vera McKinney was 89th.
Chuckey-Doak’s Lucy Hall was 84th in a time of 33:30.95.
Dobyns-Bennett won the girls race, Cherokee was second and Providence Academy third.
South Greene and West Greene ran in Oak Ridge on Saturday.
For the South Greene boys Noah Case was 54th in a time of 19:13.87. Jayden Laycek was 67th, Gabriel McKinney 88th and Aiden Hawk 105th.
For the South Greene girls Chelsea Metcalf was 38th in a time of 23:46.85. Ava Leasure was 63rd, Riley Walters 83rd and Leah King 123rd.
For the West Greene boys Julian Greenlee was 53rd in 19:12.87 and Jacob Morris was 111th.
Ella Norris led the West Greene girls at 24:56.86 in 51st place. Clair Crews was 93rd, Sarai Galarza was 97th, Ariel Piatt 102nd and Brooklyn Hyatt 117th.
