ROCK HILL, S.C. — Tusculum University has placed four players on the All-South Atlantic Conference Women’s Soccer Team for the 2025 season, the SAC office announced Thursday.

Senior forward Sydney Grant and senior defender Marja Enste were second-team honorees, while senior midfielder Wilma Axelsson and junior goalkeeper Noemie Tartrou were third-team selections in voting by the league’s 12 head coaches.

The Pioneers finished 8-8-2 overall and fifth in the SAC with a 5-4-1 conference record, earning a SAC Championship tournament berth for the first time since 2022.

The four All-Conference selections are the most for the Pioneers since 2017, with Grant earning second-team honors for the second time in her career and Enste, Axelsson and Tartrou all first-time selections to the All-SAC team.

Grant was second on the team with five goals and third with 11 points in 17 matches, and was second among Tusculum field players with 1,216 minutes played. She tied for the team lead with 21 shots on goal and two match-winning goals, which came in a 3-2 win at Ohio Dominican on Sept. 6 and a 3-2 win over Wingate on Sept. 24. Grant had two goals and an assist in conference play. For her career, the Schaumburg, Illinois native collected 18 goals and 12 assists for 48 points in 65 matches (all starts).

Enste played in all 18 matches and scored a career-high three goals, two of which were match-winners, in a team-high 1,510 minutes of playing time. She scored the winning goal on a penalty kick in a 5-2 win at Thomas More in the season opener on Sept. 4, and collected a dramatic winner off a free kick with 28.9 seconds left in a 1-0 victory over Emory & Henry on Oct. 15. Enste also had a penalty kick goal on Oct. 29 as the Pioneers earned a 2-0 victory at Newberry. The Aachen, Germany native played all 68 matches in her career (67 starts) and had four goals and seven assists for 15 points.

Axelsson recorded two goals and a team-high six assists for 10 points in 17 matches and 914 minutes of playing time. Three of her assists came in a 6-1 win over Mars Hill on Oct. 4, and she added a goal and an assist, including the winning goal in the second half, in a 3-2 win over Coker on Oct. 25. The Ytterby, Sweden native finished with four goals and nine assists for 17 points in 60 career matches, including 41 starts.

Tartrou played in 17 matches, making 15 starts, and finished with a 6-7-3 record and a 2.11 goals against average, along with three shutouts. Tartrou leads the SAC with 83 saves and had a .728 save percentage, with 10 matches having five saves or more. Tartrou had a season-best 15 saves against Catawba on Oct. 11 and made 10 saves in a scoreless draw with Lincoln Memorial on Oct. 1. The Herblay-sur-Seine, France native also earned shutout wins over Emory & Henry on Oct. 15 and Newberry on Oct. 29, making five saves in each victory. Tartrou has a 2.46 goals against average and four shutouts in 25 career matches with the Pioneers.

Bree Ehmer of Catawba was the SAC Offensive Player of the Year, with teammate Maria Rayburn selected Defensive Player of the Year.
