Last week the South Greene boys basketball climbed out the cellar in District 1-2A and brought it itself back into contention with important wins over Happy Valley and Chuckey-Doak as part of a 3-0 week. Senior big man Cayden Fillers was a big part of that effort, and for that he has been named the Greene Sports Zone Player of the Week.
Fillers averaged 16 points per game in the big week. That started with 10 points in a 60-46 win over Happy Valley, He followed with 17 points in a 61-49 win over University High. Fillers finished the week with his best effort, 21 points in a 59-51 win over cross-town rival Chuckey-Doak.
