MIAMI SHORES, Fla. — For the first time in his career, Tusculum University men’s volleyball sophomore Riley Wisniakowski has been named the Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (IVA) Setter of the Week.
In the lone match of the week at Emmanuel, Wisniakowski became the first Pioneer this season to record a double-double, collecting a season-high 36 assists and 10 digs. The Pensacola, Florida native also added two kills and one block assist against the Lions.
For the season, Wisniakowski is averaging a per set rate of .50 kills on a .333 hitting percentage, 9.25 assists, .33 service aces, 2.08 digs, .42 blocks, and one point.
Nationally, Wisniakowski ranks 24th in assists per set and 36th in digs per set.
As a team, the Pioneers rank second in opponent hitting percentage (.141), fifth in digs per set (10.00), 11th in blocks per set (2.54), 16th in win-loss percentage (.750), 19th in attacks per set (27.75), and 25th in assists per set (11.08) across the nation.
Tusculum (3-1) is off to its best start in program history. The Pioneers have a pair of weekend matches scheduled: Friday (Jan. 30) at Thomas More and Saturday (Jan. 31) at home against North Greenville.
