Unicoi County 58, West Greene 56
The West Greene boys fought back on Thursday night at Unicoi County, but ultimately came up short in a 58-56 loss.
The game was decided with 2.2 seconds left when Jackson Simmons sank the go-ahead bucket for the Blue Devils. Simmons finished the night with 32 points and A.J. Thomas added 18 points for Unicoi.
Tytus Shelton led West Greene with 17 points and Elijah Williams put in 16 points.
South Greene 65, Happy Valley 43
The South Greene boys basketball team went to Happy Valley on Thursday night and picked up a 65-43 win.
Gavin Dyer led the Rebels with 19 points while Jameson White and Cayden Fillers each put in 13 points.
Mason Townsend led the Warriors with 11 points.
Washburn 59, North Greene 57
The North Greene boys made a furious second half comeback at Washburn on Thursday night, but they could not dig all the way out of the hole they found themselves in and fell 59-57.
The Huskies were able to tie things in the final seconds but two free throws from Matthew Harville clinched the game for the Pirates.
Tyler Britton led North Greene with 25 points while Jaiden Bailey scored 18 and Thomas Darnell put in 11 points.
Dylan Mullin led Washburn with 30 points while Harville finished with 19 points.
Chuckey-Doak 58, Johnson County 41
GIRLS
Unicoi County 55, West Greene 35
The West Greene girls went to Unicoi County on Thursday night and took a 55-35 loss.
Payton Norton led West Greene with 16 points. Brooklyn Sparks led Unicoi County with 18 points while Emma Grace Anders added 15 points.
South Greene 56, Unicoi County 38
The South Greene girls took down Happy Valley 56-38 on Thursday night in a District 1-2A contest.
Kortnei Bailey led the Lady Rebels with 17 points while seven different South Greene players scored on Thursday.
Amila Riddick led Happy Valley with 14 points.
North Greene 54, Washburn 37
The North Greene girls went to Washburn on Thursday night and picked up a 54-37 win.
Tralyn Southerland led the Lady Huskies with 19 points. Eva Leonard scored 18 points while knocking down four three-pointers.
Hannah Williams led Washburn with 15 points
