Greeneville 5, William Blount 4
The Greeneville baseball team rallied on Thursday afternoon to pick up a 5-4 win over William Blount.
The Greene Devils went into the sixth inning trailing 4-2, but a base-loaded walk and an RBI single by Tegan Begley even the score at 4-4. Kase Spradlen then took over at third base for Brandon White and went on to steal home to lift the Greene Devils to a 5-4 win.
Greeneville earned four hits in the win. Maddox Bishop had a double and scored three runs. Colton Smith was 2-for-2 with an RBI.
In the mound Randen Fillers went four innings with six strike outs, five walks, and two hits allowed. Begley went 1.2 innings with four strikeouts, two walks and one hit allowed. Silar Lewis struck out the one batter he faced.
Farragut 5, Greeneville 4
In its second game of the day the Greeneville baseball team tried to rally past Farragut, but the winners of the last four Class 4A state championships were victorious 5-4.
Greeneville managed four hits in the loss. Jaxon Winter had a double and an RBI. Grayson Crosby drove in two runs.
On the mound Will Harmon threw 3.1 innings with five strikeouts, two walks, and five hits allowed. Begley threw 1.2 innings with two strikeouts, one walk and three hits allowed. Silar Lewis threw one inning with one strikeout, no walks and one hit allowed.
Chuckey-Doak 7, Johnson County 4
The Chuckey-Doak baseball team went to Johnson County on Thursday and picked up a 7-4 win.
The Black Knights earned 13 hits in the victory. Kiptyn Ball was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Shane Cook went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Cooper Seay went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
On the mound Cutshaw threw 5.2 innings with 12 strikeouts, three walks, and six hits allowed. Gavin Crum threw one inning with one strikeout, no walks, and no hits allowed.
Gatlinburg-Pittman 11, North Greene 2
The North Greene baseball took a 11-2 loss at Gatlinburg-Pittman on Thursday night.
The Huskies earned six hits on Thursday. Isaac Gaby went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and run scored. Owen Pierce had a double.
Tyler Briton threw 5.2 innings with five strikeouts, three walks and eight hits allowed.
SOFTBALL
North Greene 15, Morristown East 4
The North Greene softball team picked up a 15-4 win over Morristown East on Thursday evening.
The Lady Huskies produced 11 hits and took advantage of seven walks to score their 15 runs. Josie Graham went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Addi Dean went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. Eva Leonard was 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored. Hannah Brooks had a double and Charlie Turnmire had two RBIs.
Matti Phillips earned the win. In five innings she struck out three, walked one and allowed six hits.
