Chuckey-Doak hosted Greeneville at Holiday Lanes on Monday afternoon in conference bowling action. Both matches were tightly contested, but the Black Knights came away with a 16-11 victory on the boys’ side, while the Lady Devils earned a 22-5 win.
Greeneville started strong behind a 252 from Jon Gilbert and 192s from both Aadin Sandidge and Evan Litchfield, giving the Devils a 5-3 lead after posting a 1,076 series. Chuckey-Doak stayed close thanks to a 224 from Evan Stills and a 199 from Peyton Fitzpatrick, trailing by just 55 pins.
The Black Knights stormed back in game two to even the score at 8-8, led by Eric White’s 229 and Stills’ 196. Sandidge stayed hot for Greeneville with a 214, and Litchfield added a 193.
With the match tied heading into the Baker games, both teams battled for the edge. Chuckey-Doak took the first Baker game 174-125 to grab an 11-8 lead, but Greeneville answered with a 192-155 win in the second to knot things up at 11-11.
In the end, the Black Knights secured the decisive five team points—two for the Baker pinfall (329-317) and three for overall pinfall (2,390-2,378)—to take the match by just 12 pins.
On the girls’ side, Greeneville jumped out to a 6-2 lead behind a 163 from Addison Phillips, a 161 from Breana Brown, and a 157 from Lylli Sopha. Chuckey-Doak’s Hailey Williamson rolled a 164 to pace the Lady Knights early.
The Lady Devils extended their lead to 11-5 in the second game as Phillips continued to shine with a 182. Carly McLeod added a 168, and Brown chipped in a 157. Sara Shirey Wirtz led Chuckey-Doak with the high game of the day, a 198.
Greeneville carried that momentum into the Baker games, sweeping them 159-128 and 148-120 to seal the 22-5 win.
Greeneville will host Carter Wednesday afternoon at The Alley starting at 5:00, while Chuckey Doak travels to Gatlinburg next Monday to face off with Gatlinburg Pittman.
