In a 42-7 win over Volunteer on Friday night Zaydyn Anderson had the best game ever by Greeneville High School receiver, and for that he has been named the Greene Sports Zone Player of the Week.
In the Greene Devils Region 1-4A win Anderson caught six passes for 245 yards breaking a 40-year-old school record held by Marty Story for receiving yards in a game. The previous mark was 221 yards. Four of those catches finished in the endzone and that made Anderson the first ever Greeneville receiver to catch four touchdown passes in one game. They were by no means easy plays as his touchdown grabs went for 35, 48, 53 and 80 yards.
Through eight games this season Anderson has 831 receiving yards, with 13 touchdowns while averaging 29.7 yards per catch.
