Greeneville’s 11–12-year-old All-Star team will have to wait an additional night to complete their first-round game against Morristown. Morristown was able to plate two unearned runs in the top of the first before both teams were sent to the dugouts due to lightning entering the 10-mile buffer zone at approximately 7:30.
After more than an hour-and-a-half of resetting the 30-minute lightning window, several storms popped up on the radar and finally set on over Optimist Fireld, officially suspending the contest.
The game will resume Tuesday evening at 7:00 at Optimist Field with Greeneville trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the first.
Game two will now be scheduled for Wednesday evening at Popkin Field in Morristown. First pitch is set for 7:00.
