Greeneville 8, Jefferson County 6
The Greeneville softball team wrapped up the regular season on Wednesday with an 8-6 win at Jefferson County.
The Lady Greene Devils earned 12 hits in the win. Destani Bailey went 3-for-4 and earned her first career home run to go with four RBIs. Kyla Jobe went 3-for-4 with a double and scored three runs. Gabby Atchison had two hits, and Kaley Garland had a triple.
Brynlee Jones threw all seven innings for the Lady Devils. She struck out eight, walked four and allowed six hits.
North Greene 13, Chuckey-Doak 2
The North Greene softball team earned a 13-2 win over Chuckey-Doak on Wednesday night.
The Lady Huskies earned eight hits, while using seven walks and four errors to score its 13 runs. Hannah Brooks was 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Josie Graham went 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Mattis Phillips had a triple.
For Chuckey-Doak Saniah Atchison was 2-for-3 with a double.
Form the circle Phillips threw three innings for North Greene. She struck out two, walked three and allowed three hits. Charlie Turnmire threw four relief innings to earn the win. She struck out eight, walked one and allowed two hits.
BASEBALL
West Greene 18, Happy Valley 0
The West Greene baseball team got the postseason started on Wednesday with an 18-0 win over Happy Valley in the District 1-2A Tournament.
The Buffaloes used three arms to throw a combined no-hitter. Braden McCamey tossed two innings with three strikeouts and two walks. Jayden Cox struck out three and walked three in two innings. Brandon Hunter tossed one inning with one strikeout and two walks.
At the plate West Greene used six hits, 10 walks and 10 hit batters to score its 18 runs. Braden McCamey had a grand slam and five RBIs. Jhonen Bath had a double, Hunter and Conner Campbell each had two RBIs.
Chuckey-Doak 14, Hampton 4
The Chuckey-Doak baseball team opened postseason play on Wednesday with a 14-4 win over Hampton in the District 1-2A Tournament.
The Black Knights pounded the ball all over the park with 12 hits and six extra-base hits. Shane Cook was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Randall Sauceman went 2-for-2 with a triple and four RBIs. Ben Palazzo was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs. Jake Hinkle and Cooper Seay also had doubles.
Hinkle threw all five innings on the mound. He struck out two, walked none and allowed eight hits. He needed just 52 pitches to get through the game.
Hampton 6, South Greene 5
The South Greene baseball team put the tying run on third in the bottom of the seventh on Wednesday, but the Rebels came up short in a 6-5 loss to Hampton in the first round of the District 1-2A Tournament.
South Greene outhit Hampton nine to four but four errors led to two unearned run, and those proved to be the difference.
Charlie Lane was 2-for-4 with a double, and Colby Brooks was 2-for-4 with a double.
Brooks threw seven innings with 12 strikeouts, two walks and four hits allowed.
South Greene will be back in action on Thursday at Chuckey-Doak, and will be taking on Hampton in an elimination game.
