Greeneville fans could not have imagined a better first start behind center than what they saw from Kaine Ricker on Friday night in a 36-13 win over longtime rival Morristown West. For that he has been named Greene Sports Zone’s Texas Roadhouse Player of the Week.
Ricker was nearly perfect in his first start at quarterback, going 10-of-11 through the air for 305 yards and three touchdowns. He had touchdowns of 70 yards and 60 yards to Taren Claridy, and a 44-yard touchdown pass to Braylen Kidwell. Ricker used his legs to score Greeneville’s first touchdown of the season and finished the day with five carries for 32 yards.
Ricker also had a tackle and pass break up playing defense for the Greene Devils.
