Wednesday:
Greeneville 32, Norris 16
The Greene Devils hosted Norris on a special Wednesday night in Burley Stadium and sent the Senators home with a 32-16 loss.
Greeneville forced four turnovers in the win. Alijah Goode scooped up one of those turnovers and returned it for a 37-yard touchdown. Jett Williams had two interceptions on the night and Jace Gillespie had one.
Greeneville’s offense produced 216 total yards on 26 offensive snaps. Easton Ricker went 7-for-14 for 139 yards and 2 touchdown passes. Dreke Richard had 54 rushing yards and a touchdown. Colton Neal hauled in 2 receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown. Jett Williams had 3 receptions for 43 yards. Brayten Begley added a receiving touchdown.
Greeneville improved to 3-1 and travel to play Indian Trail on Thursday.
Thursday:
Unaka 26, North Greene 0
The Huskies were shutout for the second week in-a-row with a 26-0 loss to Unaka on Thursday night.
North Greene falls to 1-3 and plays Tri-Cities Christian next Thursday.
Sullivan Central 48, Chuckey-Doak 21
The Black Knights had success on offense, but couldn’t overcome a stronger offensive showing from Sullivan Central and lost 48-21.
Chuckey-Doak falls to 0-4 and searches for its first win next Thursday hosting Crockett.
Rogersville City School 38, West Greene 8
West Greene suffered a 38-8 loss hosting Rogersville City School on Thursday.
Bradley Bowman led West Greene in rushing with 3 rushes for 90 yards and tossed a touchdown pass. Ian McCamey had 5 rushes for 68 yards and Lex Mason had 43 yards.
The Buffaloes dropped to 0-4 and will travel to Cosby next Thursday.
South Greene 14, Providence 6
The Rebels bounced back with a 14-6 win at Providence on Thursday.
South Greene held a high-powered Providence offense to only 136 total yards of offense and 6 points.
The Rebel offense was a very balanced attack with 219 total yards (114 passing and 105 rushing). Kaden Reaves hauled in 3 receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown. Hunter Wilburn received the go-ahead touchdown with four minutes remaining.
South Greene improved to 4-1 and travel to Rogersville Middle next Thursday night.
