Chuckey-Doak 6, West Greene 0
Chuckey-Doak and West Greene had a defensive battle on Thursday night and it was Chuckey-Doak who prevailed with a 6-0 win to earn their first win of the season.
Quarterback Julian Overstreet was the hero and scored a 17-yard rushing touchdown with only 2 seconds left in regulation to win it.
“It wasn’t pretty, but I am extremely happy for these eighth graders and our team,” Chuckey-Doak Head Coach Nick Quillen said.
Chuckey-Doak finished with 116 yards of offense. Christian Roper led in rushing with 53 yards. Overstreet added 33 rushing yards. Drake Thompson had an interception on defense.
West Greene compiled 78 yards of offense. Cooper Jones had 31 rushing yards and 26 passing yards. Caleb Barrington had an interception.
Chuckey-Doak hosts Church Hill for 8th Grade Night next Thursday.
Greeneville 24, Tennessee 6
Greeneville held 8th Grade Night on Thursday and defeated Tennessee Middle 24-6 at Burley Stadium.
Greeneville amassed 237 yards of offense. Easton Ricker went 8-for-13 for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns. Dreke Richard rushed 5 times for 61 yards and a touchdown and had 1 catch for 72 yards and a touchdown.
The Greene Devils finish the regular season next week visiting TA Duggar at Elizabethton High School.
Bulls Gap 32, North Greene 0
North Greene suffered a 32-0 loss to Bulls Gap.
The loss wraps up the regular season for the Huskies.
