In a game filled with stars Greeneville’s Taren Claridy shined the brightest on Friday night as he led the Greeneville Greene Devils to a 49-21 win over top-ranked Sevier County. For that he has been named Greene Sports Zone’s Texas Roadhouse Player of the Week for a second time this season.
Clairdy was on a mission to knockoff the Smokey Bears on Friday and delivered some of the Greene Devils biggest moments. He finished Friday with eight catches for 209 yards and three touchdowns. The biggest play of the night came as the halftime buzzer sounded when he elevated over two defenders and came down with a 48-yard score. He also threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Kaine Ricker. For good measure Claridy gained 62 yards on three kickoff returns, and intercepted a pass on defense while getting in on seven tackles.
