ROCK HILL, S.C. — Tusculum University freshman thrower Caley Sosnowski has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 31, the SAC office announced Tuesday.
Sosnowski competed at the Livingstone Blue Bear Invite on Saturday and posted a winning throw in the javelin of 45.89 meters (150 feet, 7 inches). Her mark currently ranks third among all Division II competitors and broke the program record of 44.11 meters (144 feet, 9 inches) set by Shanee Angol in 2021.
Sosnowski’s winning mark came on her first throw of the competition at Livingstone, and all five of the Oxford, Florida native’s legal attempts were further than that of the runner-up.
Tusculum will return to competition on Saturday, April 13 at the Sharonda Coleman Classic, hosted by South Carolina State University.
