Greeneville 7 – Bristol 3
After the Stateliners took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, the Flyboys responded with 7 unanswered runs to secure a 7-3 victory. Ezra McNaughton blasted two home runs in consecutive at-bats, driving in four runs. Layne Akers added an RBI double.
Jace Smith came in and delivered 4 2/3 strong innings of relief work to earn the win. He scattered 3 hits, struck out 6, and kept the Stateliners off the scoreboard. The Flyboys’ bullpen went on to shut out the Stateliners for the remaining 8 innings.
Greeneville will aim for the sweep on Friday at 7:00 PM during Margaritaville Night, when they face off against the Stateliners again.
