Kingsport 7 – Greeneville 6
Greeneville and Kingsport closed out their season series on Wednesday evening, and for eight innings, it looked like the Flyboys were in command and ready to pull even atop the Western Division. But in a stunning turn, the Axmen sent 11 batters to the plate in the top of the ninth, rattling off six consecutive hits and plating six runs to steal a dramatic 7–6 comeback win.
Cameron Kim led the way for Greeneville at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Ezra McNaughton continued his power surge, collecting two hits including his league-leading 11th home run of the season.
Flyboys starter Freddie Beruvides turned in another excellent outing, tossing six scoreless innings for the second straight start. He struck out seven, walked three, allowed just two hits, and lowered his ERA to 0.83. Despite the dominant performance, he received a no-decision. Reliever Drew Mattox was tagged with the loss, giving up seven runs on six hits over 2 1/3 innings.
Greeneville will resume a suspended game against Tri-State on Thursday at 5:30 p.m., followed by the regularly scheduled seven-inning contest at Pioneer Park.
