GREENSBORO, N.C. — For a seventh consecutive year, the Tusculum University baseball program has been recognized as a recipient of the American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack.
The Pioneers, under the leadership of head coach Brandon Steele, accounted for a team cumulative grade point average of 3.31 and was one of five South Atlantic Conference teams and one of 87 NCAA Division II programs to be honored.
The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award highlights program coached by ABCA members that posted a team GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
TU earned this accolade for a seventh straight time and the 3.31 GPA is the highest mark during that seven-year period.
