TUESDAY, AUGUST 26TH
South Greene 32, Cosby 6
In a battle of undefeated teams, South Greene Middle reigned supreme on Tuesday night with a strong 32-6 win over Cosby.
Wyatt Milhorn was a workhorse on the ground again with 12 carries for 142 yards and a touchdown. Michael Parris was very effective with four rushes for 63 yards and three touchdowns. Parris hauled in four catches for 30 yards too. Sammy Jones was 6-for-7 passing with 50 yards and carried the ball four times for nine yards and a touchdown.
Nick Powell led the Rebel defense with seven tackles. Michael Parris collected five tackles and two sacks. South Greene’s secondary intercepted three passes. Alex Merriam, Kaden Reaves, and Hayden Ricker were credited with those picks.
South Greene improved to 4-0 and hit their bye week next week. They play on the road at Rogersville on Thursday, September 11th for their next contest.
Rogersville 30, North Greene 12
North Greene Middle let one go late and suffered a 30-12 loss to Rogersville on Tuesday.
Easton Head was 4-of-7 passing for 63 yards and a touchdown. Head had one rushing attempt that resulted in a 12-yard rushing touchdown. Archer Tippins rushed seven times for 77 yards.
Glenn Villarreal was flying everywhere on defense and collected 11 tackles and one sack. Trenton Shirey had an interception. Noah Gray and Liam Spaulding shared four tackles each while Spaulding had four TFL.
North Greene dropped to 1-3 and travel to Parrotsville next Thursday night.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 28TH
Greeneville 26, Liberty Bell 22
The Greene Devils held on to capture an important 26-22 conference win over Liberty Bell on Thursday night.
It didn’t come easy as an 18-0 lead was quickly erased and the Devils had to play until the very last minute to preserve the win. Justin Fezell ran wild for 150 yards and collected three touchdowns in the victory. Dante Webb hauled in five catches for 65 yards and a touchdown. Jackson Britton also scored a two-point conversion.
Ben Hansel picked off a pass on defense Wes Hawkins led all Greene Devils with 10 tackles.
The Devils won their second-straight and improved to 2-1. Greeneville plays Norris on the road next Thursday night.

Chuckey-Doak 38, Boone 18
Chuckey-Doak Middle picked up a second-straight win on Thursday night with a 38-18 victory over Boone in Lower Afton.
Chuckey-Doak improved to 2-1 with the win. The Knights enter a bye week next week and play at Crockett next on Thursday, September 11th.
David Crockett 35, West Greene 0
The Buffaloes dropped their Thursday night home game to Crockett 35-0.
Jagger Dearinger passed for 35 yards and rushed for 60 yards. Hudson Lawson rushed for 40 yards and Braiden Shifflett had 13 yards rushing.
On defense it was Shifflet who led the Buffs with four tackles. Charlie Arrington had two TFL and a sack.
West Greene dropped to 0-3 and host Sullivan Central next Thursday at home.
