Tusculum Wraps Up Play At D2 South Regional Preview

CLEVELAND, Tenn. — The Tusculum University women’s golf finished 15th at the 2025 NCAA Division II South Regional Preview, which was held at the par-72, 6,036-yard Cleveland Country Club.

The Pioneers carded a 54-hole team total of 947 including Tuesday’s final round 320.

Wingate led wire-to-wire to claim the team title as the Bulldogs finished with 877, 15 shots better than runner-up Lynn.

Lander finished third with 901, host Lee was fourth with 903, Anderson was fifth with 904 and North Georgia was sixth with 905. Erskine was seventh with 907, followed by Emmanuel (918), Eckerd (920), Rollins (921), Lincoln Memorial (926), Mississippi College (936), Carson-Newman (942), Lenoir-Rhyne (944), Tusculum (947) and Union, Tenn. (948).

Wingate’s Amely Bochaton defeated teammate Jackie Gonzalez Howard by one shot to claim the individual medal. Bochaton shot a one-under par total 215 including Tuesday’s 71.

TU senior Reagan Padilla was the low Pioneer for the tournament as she shot 72-75-80=227 to finish 27th. Sophomore Maylei Hildenbrand shot a team-low 79 on Tuesday as she finished with 81-78-79=238 (T63). Annabelle Mozingo finished 80th with 76-83-85=244, Delfin Filiz was 82nd with 85-81-81=247 and freshman McKenna Williams wrapped up her collegiate debut with 81-93-80=254 (89th).

The tournament, which featured 16 teams including seven which are ranked in the WGCA Division II Poll, was a preview of the host venue for this spring’s NCAA II South Region Championship.

Tusculum returns to action next week (Sep. 22-23) as they travel to Bristol for the King Invitational.
