OXFORD, Miss. – The No. 3/5 Tennessee soccer team secured its fifth straight SEC victory after topping Ole Miss on the road, 4-1, thanks to a trio of goals in the second half.
Tennessee (11-1-1, 5-1-1) now has 12 goal-scorers through 13 matches and holds a 2.46 goals-per-game average.
Ole Miss (4-6-1, 0-5-1) struck first on Sunday after Sarah Granno scored in the 16th minute off an assist from Sydney Torres.
Jenna Stayart then found the equalizer for the Lady Vols in the 24th minute after Mac Midgley found her on the left side of the box.
After a 1-1 score at the half, UT came out with a second-half rally started by Alivia Stott’s sixth score of the season. Devin Davis sent it down field to Stott on the run perfectly executed the finish.
Five minutes later, Mac Midgley logged her first score of the season with a clinical finish behind the post.
Luciana Latino then finished it off for the Big Orange, logging her first-career goal after dribbling down and sending it from beyond the box.
Tennessee finished the match with 14 shots, with eight coming on frame. Additionally, the Lady Vols secured six corner kicks and allowed zero from the Rebels.
