“No experience is required, and all skill levels are welcome,” said Coach Farran Michel, Greeneville Lacrosse Club’s head girls’ coach. “This event is a fantastic opportunity for kids to try a new sport that doesn’t impact parents’ wallets.”
Greeneville-Greene County hosts a cooperative high school team, South Greene Lacrosse, that competes against area high school lacrosse teams including Science Hill, Dobbins Bennett-West Ridge, Sevier and Gibbs. Lacrosse is a TSSAA-sanctioned school sport in Tennessee.
“Besides being a fast-paced crossover sport for fall athletes, like football or girls’ soccer, lacrosse has the highest college recruitment ranking of all sports,” said Jackson Cardey, TU Men’s Lacrosse player. “A free event like Celebrate Lacrosse is a no-risk opportunity for students to test-drive lacrosse.”
