WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Former Tusculum University cornerback Jordan Taylor has signed a free agent contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.

Taylor, who played his first three seasons of collegiate football at Tusculum from 2020-2023 before transferring to NCAA-FBS James Madison University in 2024 for his final college campaign.

During his Tusculum career, he played in 32 games where he totaled 91 tackles (61 solos, 30 assists) including 8.0 for loss. He accounted for 16 passes defended including six interceptions and 10 break-ups. He also forced a pair of fumbles and recovered another while also blocking a kick.

The Miami, Florida native was a member of Tusculum’s South Atlantic Conference championship team during the COVID shortened spring season in 2021. In the fall of 2021, he earned All-SAC second team honors as he anchored the TU secondary.

During his lone season at JMU, he appeared in all 13 games with 10 starts as he recorded 25 tackles (18 solos) along with five pass break-ups. He helped the Dukes to a 9-4 record including a victory in the Boca Raton Bowl over Western Kentucky.

After James Madison, Taylor signed a free agent contract with the Las Vegas Raiders following the 2025 NFL Draft and participated in the club’s rookie minicamp.

While at Tusculum, Taylor was also a standout sprinter on the TU track and field team. He was a four-time All-Region selection, earning outdoor honors in the 4×100 relay in both 2023 and 2024 and in the 100 meters in 2023 and indoor honors in the 60 meters in 2021. Taylor was an NCAA Division II Outdoor Championship qualifier in both the 100 meters and 4×100 relay during the 2023 season. Outdoors, he ranks third in program history in the 100 meters and fourth in the 200 meters while ranking sixth in the 60 meters and seventh in the 200 meters indoors for the Pioneers.

Taylor becomes the 34th Pioneer to play professional football and the ninth to sign with a CFL team.
