Greeneville 8 – Elizabethton 7 (Game 1)
Elizabethton 8 – Greeneville 8 (Game 2, River Riders win the tie-breaker)
Greeneville traveled to Elizabethton on Saturday evening for a crucial doubleheader, needing a sweep—and some help from Bristol—to climb in the Western Division standings.
In Game 1, both the Flyboys and River Riders collected nine hits, but it was Greeneville who came away with a narrow 8–7 victory, securing their spot in the playoffs.
Danny Wallace led the offense, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs, including a double. Jayce Patton and Peyton Miller each contributed a pair of singles, while Cameron Kimm added his fourth home run of the season. On the mound, A.J. Diaz came on in relief to throw 2 2/3 innings, allowing just two hits with one strikeout and no runs to earn the win.
Game 2 was a back-and-forth battle. The Flyboys rallied with six runs in the final two innings to tie the game at 8–8 in the top of the ninth, but ultimately fell in extra innings, ending any chance of catching the first-place Kingsport Axmen.
Jayce Patton had a standout performance, going 2-for-4 with five RBIs and two home runs. Dylan Jackson added a double and a single in the effort.
Greeneville, now locked in as the No. 2 seed, will host Elizabethton on Sunday at 2:00 PM. The Flyboys will then wrap up the regular season with games against Johnson City—Tuesday at Pioneer Park and Wednesday at TVA Credit Union Ballpark.
