Elizabethton 1 – Greeneville 0
Elizabethton pushed across the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth inning when, with two outs, Jordan Crosland singled home Brady Thompson.
Greeneville didn’t go quietly, as Cameron Kim doubled with one out in the top of the ninth. However, the next two Flyboys were retired, and the River Riders held on for the 1-0 win.
Dylan Jackson collected two singles for Greeneville, while Kim added a double to lead the Flyboys’ offense, which managed just five hits on the night.
Flyboys pitching was solid, limiting Elizabethton to one run on four singles while racking up 12 strikeouts and just two walks. Starter Kyle Bade turned in a strong outing, allowing only two hits and one walk while striking out seven in a no-decision.
Greeneville returns to action Thursday evening at Pioneer Park as they host Bristol to kick off a seven-game homestand.
