AUSTIN, Texas — Tusculum University guard Bryce Jackson has been named to the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Academic All-America® third team as selected by the College Sports Communicators.
Jackson becomes only the second Academic All-American® in program history as he joins two-time winner Trenton Gibson (2020-21 & 2021-22).
The 2025 Academic All-America® Men’s Basketball team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, must be at least a sophomore and played in 90 percent of their team’s games or start in 67 percent of their contests.
Jackson, a junior from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, has a 3.98 GPA while majoring in sport management. He is a member of the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, Dean’s List, President’s List and Charles Oliver Gray Honors List. In 2024, he was named the SAC Men’s Basketball Elite 23 Award recipient. He is scheduled to complete his undergraduate degree with honors this May.
Jackson earned All-SAC third team honors this past season where he led the Pioneers in scoring averaging 18.6 points per game, which ranked sixth in the conference and 61st in the country. He started in all 28 games where he scored in double figures on 25 occasions including 12 times with 20 or more points and two outings with 30-plus points. He scored a career-best 35 points against Limestone University where he tied the school single-game record with 28 field goal attempts.
Defensively, Jackson is listed amongst the conference leaders in steals, averaging 1.75 per game which ranked him fourth in the SAC. He also led the team in minutes played (33.33 mpg – 10th in SAC), field goals made (176 – 9th in SAC), field goal attempts (401, 4th in SAC), free throws made (130 – 5th in SAC), free throw attempts (171 – 5th in SAC), total steals (49 – 8th in SAC) and total points (520 – 9th in SAC). He also averaged 5.6 rebounds per game and shot 76 percent from the free throw line.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-2025 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
