BRISTOL, TN – Under the sunny yet challenging conditions at Tennessee High School in Bristol, Tennessee on Saturday, the Frank Carver Invitational brought together a field of 29 competitive track and field teams from across the region. Despite the gusty winds, athletes from Greeneville and South Greene High Schools rose to the occasion, delivering outstanding performances and setting personal and school records. The Greeneville Girls placed 10th and the South Greene Girls finished 15th. The Greeneville Boys placed 9th and the South Greene boys placed 23rd.
GABBARD LEADS SOUTH GREENE CONTINGENT
South Greene’s track and field team had some key absences due to injury and the ACT testing, but the team still managed good results. Leading the charge for South Greene was Alexa Gabbard, who left her mark on the meet with exceptional results. Gabbard’s talents were on full display as she clinched a first-place finish in the Long Jump, accompanied by a new personal record. In the Triple Jump, she secured a third-place finish, further adding to her impressive day on the track.
The South Greene girls’ 4×200 relay team, consisting of Natalie Freise, Emma Cutshall, Abby Hoxie, and Alexa Gabbard, demonstrated their teamwork and speed by finishing 7th overall in a highly competitive field.
Additionally, Natalie Foshie displayed her skills in the discus event, earning an 8th-place finish for South Greene.
On the boys’ side, Nolan Weems tied his personal best in the Pole Vault, securing a commendable 7th-place finish for the team. Madison Darnell made history by setting a new school record in the shot put, showcasing the strength and determination of South Greene’s athletes.
In a standout performance, the men’s Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team comprising Zackriah Duncan, Noah Case, Evan Stills, and Evan Ryan shattered their school record, a testament to their teamwork and determination on the track.
The ladies’ 4×400 relay team, led by Alexa Gabbard alongside Natalie Foshie, Emma Cutshall, and Natalie Freise, achieved a new personal best, highlighting their commitment and competitive spirit.
Individual achievements were plentiful, with Samantha Birdwell and Emma Cutshall achieving significant personal records in the 800 meters, underlining their dedication to improvement and success.
Meanwhile, Zackriah Duncan also reached a personal record in the Triple Jump, adding to the team’s overall success.

McCLINTOCK, BAILEY, ANDERSON, AND MOORE PACE GREENEVILLE
The Greeneville girls placed 9th, led by Ovivia McClintock who finished second in the 100 meter dash and was part of the 4×100 girls relay team that placed 4th. The Greeneville boys finished ninth for the day and earned standout performances individually. Trey Bailey set a personal best in the 3200 meter run and finished 2nd. Zaydyn Anderson continues to shine as he was able to place in the 200 meter run and the triple jump. Jacob Moore cleared 12′ 6″ in pole vault and claimed third overall. The Greeneville 4×100 relay team has the fastest time in East Tennessee this season, but were disqualified due to an improper exchange.
