On Tuesday evening the TSSAA announced the finalist for the 2025 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards and Greeneville quarterback Caden Baugh was among those selected for the Class 4A award.
Baugh has had a stellar senior campaign and has been a pivotal piece to the Greene Devils’ state semifinals run. Through 13 games Baugh has thrown for 2,588 yards while completing 78 percent of his passes. He has 36 touchdown passes and just two interceptions on the season while averaging 17.97 yards per pass attempt. On the ground Baugh has run for 1,137 yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging 8.5 yards per carry.
Baugh joins Carson Quillen (2024), Mason Gudger (2021), Ty Youngblood (2019), Cade Ballard (2018, 2017), Terrell Rollins (2011), Jamal Hall (2011), William Carmichael (2010), Cody Baugh (2002), Byron Gillespie (1996), Dustin Moore (1993) and Brigham Lyons (1988) as Greene Devils who have been named finalists for the Mr. Football Award.
Ballard, Rollins, Carmichael and Moore all won the award.
The other finalists for the Class 4A Mr. Football Award are Alcoa quarterback Thomas Manu and Upperman quarterback Bronzden Chaffin. The Greene Devils beat Upperman 41-33 on August 29, and will play Alcoa on Friday in the state semifinals, giving Greeneville fans a chance to see all three finalist at Burley Stadium this season.
The Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards will be presented to the top football players in nine classifications of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. The top kicker in the state will be recognized with a Mr. Football Award, regardless of classification.
A committee of statewide sports writers selected winners based on performance in the 2025 regular season. Academics and character were also taken into consideration. High school head coaches and members of the media nominated the finalists.
“We are very appreciative of the Tennessee Titans for their continued support of these awards,” stated Mark Reeves, Executive Director of the TSSAA. “Having the awards presented at Nissan Stadium will provide a very special atmosphere for these outstanding student-athletes.”
This is the 41st year that the Mr. Football Awards have been presented to Tennessee’s best high school football players. A Mr. Football trophy will be presented to the winners of each category. A Mr. Football plaque will be presented to the other two finalists in each category. The other semi-finalists will each receive a certificate.
