ROCK HILL, S.C. — Tusculum University senior sprinter Jahzara Hart has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 18, the SAC office announced Tuesday.
Hart won the 60 meters at the Vanderbilt Invitational on Saturday, running 7.43 seconds in the finals to beat out four Division I competitors in the race. Her time of 7.43 seconds was the third-fastest in her career and is tied for the fifth-best in Division II this season. The Raleigh, North Carolina native added a fifth-place finish in the 200 meters at 24.67 seconds which is tied for 21st in the nation.
An All-Region honoree in both the 60 and 200 meters last year, Hart currently has the best time in the Southeast Region in the 60 meters and is fourth in the 200 meters, with both marks leading all SAC runners.
