ROCK HILL, S.C. — Tusculum University defensive back Kevin Jordan has been the WePlayed South Atlantic Conference Defensive Football Player of Week.
Jordan, a 5-9, 185-pound junior from Cincinnati, Ohio, established a new Tusculum record with his 100-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Pioneers’ season-opening win over Bluefield State.
Jordan becomes the ninth player in South Atlantic Conference history to record a 100-yard pick six.
He also made four tackles including one resulting in a forced fumble to set up a touchdown in Tusculum’s 35-point second quarter.
The Tusculum defense accounted for four turnovers (3 interceptions, 1 fumble) which resulted in 28 points in TU’s 42-7 win over the Big Blues.
Tusculum returns to action this Saturday when they make the 26-mile trip to Johnson City to take on NCAA-FCS East Tennessee State University at 5:30 p.m. It will be the 25th meeting between the Pioneers and the Buccaneers, but the first in 76 years.
