Local High School Track Stars Shine At Bill Brimer Invitational

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — The Terry Hull Complex at Greeneville Middle School was the stage for an impressive display of athleticism during Tuesday’s Bill Brimer Invitational, featuring local high school teams from Greeneville, Chuckey-Doak, South Greene, West Greene, and Towering Oaks.

South Greene High School made its presence known with standout performances across various events. Ava Clark clinched first place in the 100-meter hurdles. Natalie Freise dominated the 300-meter hurdles, securing another first-place finish for the team. Alexa Gabbard showcased her skills by claiming victory in the high jump and landing third in both the triple jump and the 300-meter hurdles. South Greene’s relay team, comprising Natalie Foshie, Mackenzie Niston, Gabbard, and Clark, triumphed in the girls’ 4×100 relay. Mackenzie Niston contributed to the team’s success with a second-place finish in the long jump and a third-place finish in the high jump. Heath Norton added valuable points with a second-place finish in the shot put. The teamwork continued in the girls’ 4×800 relay, where Samantha Birdwell, Freise, Emma Cutshall, and Ava Clark secured a third-place finish. In the boys’ events, Trey Gentry, Keshawn Engram, Nash Rader, and Tripp Neas secured a third-place finish in the 4×100 relay. Natalie Foshie also contributed with a third-place finish in the discus throw. The 4×800 relay team of Noah Case, Zackriah Duncan, Benjamin Morgan, and Evan Ryan earned another third-place finish, while the quartet of Noah Case, Zackriah Duncan, Evan Stills, and Evan Ryan rounded out the results with a third-place finish in the 4×400 relay.

Greeneville High School showcased its talent in both boys’ and girls’ events. Darien Humphries dominated the 100-meter dash and secured a third-place finish in the triple jump. Trey Bailey also excelled, claiming first place in the 3200 meters. Zaydyn Anderson showcased his skills with a first-place finish in the long jump. The boys’ 4×100 and 4×800 relay teams delivered strong performances, both clinching first place. Jacob Moore claimed victory in the pole vault, while Hunter Ratliff secured a second-place finish in the same event. On the girls’ side, Breanna McClintock and Annika Vines secured third-place finishes in the 100 meters and 1600 meters, respectively. Susan Mullhollen showcased her strength with a second-place finish in the 3200 meters. Lorelei Birdwell and Jayla Gillespie added to the team’s success with second-place finishes in the pole vault and shot put events, respectively. The girls’ 4×100 relay team finished second, and the 4×800 relay team clinched first place.

Chuckey-Doak High School athletes also made their mark. Isaiah Treadway showcased his versatility with second place in the 100 meters, first place in the high jump, and third place in the shot put. Carlene Bishop dominated the 100 meters for the girls. Laney Ricker and Carmela Smock secured third and first places, respectively, in their respective events. Gili Moratalla and Niome Merrill contributed to the team’s success with second and third-place finishes in hurdles and pole vault events. The girls’ 4×100 relay team also secured a third-place finish.

West Greene High School athletes excelled in the field events. Abbey Cox claimed victory in both the discus and shot put events, showcasing exceptional strength and technique.
