Greeneville 6, Indian Trail 0
The Greene Devils grinded out a hard-fought 6-0 win on Thursday night against conference foe Indian Trail.
The offense wasn’t up to par, but the defense surely was. A shutout pitched by the defense helped Greeneville carry out business in Burley and pick up an important conference win.
“There’s no layups in this conference. Everybody’s as tough as they can be. They fought for every minute. I think we didn’t have our best effort tonight but the boys played hard and they earned it. Earned it in a hard way which is what we do here,” Greeneville Head Coach Todd Pait explained.
Greeneville carried out 151 yards of offense. Daunte Webb was Greeneville’s lone scorer with a 25-yard touchdown on a reverse to the left. Webb also came away with an interception to end the first half.
Jet Williams also came away with an interception on the Greene Devil defense.
Greeneville’s win helped them improve to 3-2. The Devils host John Sevier next Thursday night at 7:00 PM inside of Burley Stadium.

South Greene 25, Rogersville 8
The Rebels remain unbeaten and left Rogersville with a 25-8 victory on Thursday.
Wyatt Milhorn led the rushing attack with 13 carries for 145 yards and 3 touchdowns. Kade Jeffries had only 2 carries but gained 69 yards and a touchdown. Adrian Bobadilla led the defense with 9 tackles. Hayden Ricker had 6 tackles and Nick Powell had 4 tackles.
South Greene jumps to 5-0 with the win. They host North Greene next Thursday night at 6:00 PM for Homecoming.
Cosby 44, North Greene 6
The Huskies suffered a tough 44-6 loss at home to Cosby.
They only trailed 12-6 at the halftime break, but a dominant second half by the Eagles allowed them to pull away with the game.
North Greene dropped to 2-4 and visits South Greene next week in Camp Creek for Homecoming at 6:00 PM.
Sullivan Heights 44, West Greene 14
The Buffaloes suffered their second loss of the week and traveled to Sullivan County for a 44-14 loss to Sullivan Heights.
Jagger Dearinger had the highlight of the night for the Buffs with a kick return touchdown. Dearinger also delivered a 40-yard passing strike to Hudson Lawson.
West Greene fell to 0-5 and travels to White Pine next Tuesday for a contest at 6:00 PM. They also host Church Hill Thursday at 6:00 PM.
TUESDAY, September 9th
Sullivan Central 47, West Greene 8
West Greene started the week with a tough 47-8 loss at home in a rescheduled date from last Thursday’s postponement.
Jagger Dearinger had the only scoring play for West Greene with a rushing touchdown.
