District 1-AA baseball will have to wait a little longer to crown a tournament champion and name the number 1 seed for the upcoming regional tournament as weather once again wreaked havoc on spring sports schedules in East Tennessee.
Trailing 3-1 and headed to the bottom of the 4th, the West Greene Buffaloes opened up the proverbial floodgates scoring 6 runs on 7 hits to take a 7-3 advantage. It was then, with 2 outs, that lightning was detected in the area and both teams were pulled from the field and headed to shelter. After an approximately 1-hour delay, Mother Nature truly opened up her floodgates and officially brought the game to a suspended status.
The game will pick back up right where it left off and be completed on Tuesday with the time and location to be announced.
