GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Tusculum University junior Reagan Padilla shot a final round 75 to wrap up play at the 2025 NCAA Division II South Region Championship.
The Gallatin, Tennessee native finished the 54-hole championship with a score of 77-76-75=228 (+12) to finished tied for 53rd place in the 98-player field.
Padilla ends the year with a 75.35 stroke average, which breaks the TU single-season mark she established during the 2023-24 campaign (75.40).
The top-four teams advance to the NCAA II National Championship in Boulder City, Nevada on May 13-17. Flagler won the team competition with a 54-hole total 871 and moves onto the NCAA II National Championship. Nova Southeastern finished second with 878, while top-ranked Anderson posted a one-over par score 289 in the final round to finish at 888, good enough for third-place. Tampa, North Georgia and Wingate finished tied for fourth place with 891.
The top-two individual finishers not affiliated with a team who is advancing, will compete as individual competitors at the national championship. Limestone’s Claudia Hastings captured medalist honors as she finished with a six-under par total 210 including Wednesday’s final round 66 (-6). Lander’s Kajsa Lindqvist carded an even par 216 and also advances.
Padilla opened her final round with birdies on No. 2 and No. 8 as she carded a two-under par 34 for her opening nine. She would bogey four of the first five holes on her inward nine and would finish with 41 (+5) to wrap up her 75.
Padilla lowers her career stroke average to 76.38, which is the second-lowest in program history.
