GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Emory & Henry University came away with a 2-1 victory over Tusculum University in South Atlantic Conference men’s soccer Wednesday night at Pioneer Field.
Milan Ales scored in the first half and Jean Charles Eyidi in the second half to build a 2-0 lead for the Wasps (5-3-2, 4-1-1 SAC) before the Pioneers (4-6-1, 2-4-1 SAC) got on the board in the 76th minute on a goal from Mason Clark.

The Wasps nearly scored in the first 20 seconds, but Noe Delmotte stepped up to stop an attempt from Matheus Ulrich Da Silva. At 14:47, Ales took a pass from Noah Serwy and went down the left side past two defenders and shot by Delmotte for his second goal of the season.
Tusculum’s best chances of the first half came on a wide shot from Hugo Le Floch in the 18th minute and a blast from Elliot Edwards from 25 yards that was stopped on a dive by Wasps keeper Baptise Berthozat. Edwards had another chance in the second half off a free kick, but Berthozat cradled his blast in the 48th minute.
Emory & Henry stretched its lead to 2-0 at 52:23 as a through pass from Samuel Ulrich connected with Eyidi, who beat Delmotte one-on-one for his first goal of the season.
Clark scored for the second straight game to put the Pioneers on the board at 75:38 as he carried a pass from Linus Salomonsen to the end line, and flicked a shot that sneaked between Berthozat and the near post for his third of the season.
Tusculum would have the final four shot attempts of the match following Clark’s goal, with the best try off to the left by Gustavo Figueira Oliveira in the 85th minute.
Both Berthozat and Delmotte finished with three saves in the match, and each team had two corner kicks apiece.
