GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — The Tusculum University women’s golf team opened with a 328 and are one shot out of the lead following day one action of the 26th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being held at the par-71, 5,843-yard Link Hills Country Club.
The Pioneers are one stroke behind first round leader King University who carded a 327. Tusculum is second followed by Midway (334), Young Harris (338), Mars Hill (341) and UVA Wise (353).
Mars Hill’s Chelsea Baker has the 18-hole leader after firing a four-over par 75 and leads by one shot over King’s Julianna Go (76) and two shots clear of Marina Noti of Davis & Elkins (77). Three Young Harris players fired a 79 and are tied for fourth place including Tamara Brito, Connor Johnson and Lucy Wiegert.
Tusculum’s Lindsay Self is the low Pioneer after her Monday tally of 80 and is tied for seventh place. Reagan Padilla is tied for ninth with her 81, while Emilie Bergh-Jacobsen is 14th with 83. Anna Ahonen is 17th with her 84 and Adrienne O’Brien rounds out the TU team scoring with 90 (T27th). Freshman Lindy Carter, playing as an individual competitor, shot a season-low 86 and is tied for 21st place.
The final round of the McAmis Memorial is slated to start at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday and it will be a “shotgun” start.
