Last week North Greene post player Tralyn Southerland dominated the paint on both ends of the floor and led the Lady Huskies to a championship at the Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic in Gatlinburg. For that she has been named the Greene Sports Zone Player of the Week.
Southerland started the tournament with a 20-point performance in a 64-53 win over Clay County, Ky. She followed that up with 25 points in a 51-36 win over Franklin-Simpson, Ky. Then in the championship game against Cascade Southerland poured in 27 points in a 68-59 overtime win. She also started the week with a 14-point performance in 56-31 win over West Greene.
