Chuckey-Doak 11, North Greene 1
The Chuckey-Doak Black Knights celebrated senior night on Friday night and left Lower Afton with an 11-1 victory over the visiting North Greene Huskies.
After committing their only two errors and allowing their only run in the first inning, Chuckey-Doak played nearly perfect the rest of the way. They collected eleven runs on fourteen hits.
Jake Hinkle and James Seidl celebrated senior night and did not disappoint on their special days. Hinkle reached base every plate appearance and went 2-for-2 with a walk and hit-by-pitch, three runs, and three RBI’s. Seidl lifted off for a solo home run in the fifth inning to put a stamp on his senior night.
North Greene collected two hits, both doubles, from Isaac Gaby and Brady Malone. Jake Duffy scored their only run through both of Chuckey-Doak’s errors.
Kiptyn Ball toed the rubber for Chuckey-Doak and pitched six efficient innings with two hits and zero earned runs. Jake Duffy received the loss for North Greene.
Elizabethton 4, West Greene 1
The West Greene baseball team went to Elizabethton on Friday night and hung around with the No.7 ranked team in Class 3A, but in the end the Cyclones claimed a 4-1 win.
The Buffaloes earned five hits in the loss. Kaven Greene was 2-for-4 with a double. Jayden Cox and Jhonen Bath both had a single and Ethan Carpenter had an RBI.
On the mound Conner Campbell threw six innings for West Greene. He struck out four, walked two and allowed five hits.
SOFTBALL
Greeneville 12, North Greene 4
The Greeneville softball team pounded the ball all over Hardin Park on Friday night on the way to a 12-4 win over North Greene.
The Lady Devils earned 19 hits with seven players earning multiple hits. Kaley Garland led the way from her leadoff spot by going 3-for-5 with a home run, triple and five RBIs. Kyla Jobe was 3-for-4 with a triple. Brynlee Jones was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Jamie Jackson, Kinslee Lewandowski and Riley Foshie each had a double.
North Greene earned five hits. Hannah Brooks was 2-for-3. Kinlea Eastep had a home run, and Matti Phillips had a double.
In the circle Jones had another big day for Greeneville. In seven innings she struck out 11, walked three and allowed five hits.
Phillips took the loss for North Greene. In three innings she struck out one, walked one, and allowed 12 hits. Charlie Turnmire threw three innings with one strikeout, no walks and seven hits allowed.
